Anthony J. Tyrrell
Mr. Tyrrell has been a Contract Grant Specialist for Area Agency 12 on Aging in Sonora, California since 1994. He is responsible for securing $1 million in grants for senior services and programs in Amador, Alpine, Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. He also establishes and maintains relationships with foundations, corporations, and federal, state, and local government agencies. Previously Mr. Tyrrell was the owner/operator of four successful specialty and department stores in Angels Camp and Sonora, California, establishing relationships with small-business owners to form the "Northern California Buying Group" covering 31 counties. In 1975 he formed the Angels Camp Merchants and Professional Association.
Mr. Tyrrell belongs to many professional organizations and societies including clerk for the board of facilities for Bret Harte Union high school district in Calaveras County, the Task Force on Fair Financing, Angels-Murphys Rotary Club, Angels Camp Veterans Memorial District, and the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce to name a few. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in business administration and majored in economics at San Jose City College.
