About the Task Force on Court FacilitiesAssembly Bill 233 (Escutia and Pringle, the Lockyer-Isenberg Trial Court Funding Act of 1997) was passed by the California Legislature on September 13, 1997 and signed into law by Governor Wilson on October 10, 1997, Section 48 of AB 233 establishes the Task Force on Court Facilities consisting of eighteen (18) appointed members whose mission is to review existing and future Trial and Appellate Court facilities needs and to establish options for expansion, maintenance and improvement of those facilities. An essential component of this process is the determination of the future costs associated with these facilities and the specific division of responsibilities for ownership and operations of these facilities between the State and County government.
