§1.05 Quasi-Community Property

Quasi-community property means all real or personal property, wherever situated, acquired in one of the following ways [FC §125]:

  • By either spouse while domiciled elsewhere, which would have been community property if the spouse who acquired it had been domiciled in California when it was acquired; or
  • By either spouse while domiciled elsewhere, in exchange for real or personal property, wherever situated, which would have been community property if the spouse who acquired it had been domiciled in California when it was acquired.
