Welcome to You Be the Judge: Hearsay and Its Exceptions
A CJER Online Course
California Center for Judicial Education and Research

You Be The Judge–Multimedia VersionThis course uses a quiz-show format to test your knowledge of various hearsay issues and exceptions. We'll give you feedback throughout and provide links to applicable authority. As you consider the feedback we will give you, remember that evidence is not a science. Many good, thoughtful judges will rule differently on the exact same scenarios. Although you will receive a score and “fabulous prize” at the end, no permanent record is made of how well you do.  The program consistes of 26 questions and takes about one hour to complete.

You Be The Judge–Multimedia VersionA "Help" button will be available to you throughout the course. Just click on it whenever you'd like a hint before answering a question.

When you finish the entire course, you’ll be asked to fill out an online evaluation and to print out a certificate for your files to verify that you took this course.

Good luck dealing with these issues! Please select one of the formats below to continue.
