After taking this course you will be able to:

List the juvenile dependency hearings in proper sequence
State the statutory time limit for scheduling each hearing
Recognize grounds for exercising jurisdiction over a child
Match key findings and orders to the appropriate hearings
Apply selected juvenile dependency law principles to hypothetical situations
Identify when Title IV-E and ICWA requirements apply
Define words and phrases unique to juvenile dependency court

We estimate that all three Parts of the course may take you 3.5 hours to complete, depending on your experience. If you cannot complete the course in one session, consider completing it in three sessions. For example, you can first complete Part 1, which covers the initial proceedings, and then go on to Part 2, covering jurisdiction and disposition hearings. In a final session, you can complete Part 3, which covers review hearings and the .26 hearing.
