CAUTION

If an action is filed against a principal and his or her guaranty or surety under a guarantor or suretyship agreement, e.g., an action involving a contractor’s bond, a reasonable attempt must be made to complete service on the principal. If service is not completed, the action must be transferred to the court of appropriate jurisdiction. [CCP §116.340(h).]
