§6.13 Other Posttrial Issues
|
You may encounter other posttrial issues:
- Request for relief from forfeiture. Although forfeiture of an unexpired rental agreement term happens only rarely, a tenant has the right to apply to the court for relief within 30 days after the forfeiture. [See
CCP §1179.]
- New trial motion. A motion for a new trial may be made in accordance with
CCP §§656 et seq. [See
CCP §1178.]
- Contempt. A tenant who has been lawfully evicted from rented premises by a judgment or another court process and re-enters the property or retakes possession of it without a right to do so is in contempt of court. [See
CCP §1210.]
