2. What will happen to court employees' retirement funds and other vested benefits?

One of the responsibilities of the Task Force on Trial Court Employees is to document the retirement systems in which court employees are now enrolled and determine the costs associated with making any change in the retirement benefits for court employees. In the interim, retirement and other vested benefits will not be affected by AB 233 [Trial Court Funding Act of 1997]. The legislative intent is clear that no provision of the bill is intended to reduce the salary or benefits of trial court employees.
