4. What impact will county-approved cost of living increases (COLAs) have on court budgets? Will there be a cap on increases by the state?

Courts are required to operate within the budget that is approved by the Legislature. There is no specific state policy on the issue of COLAs and their impact on court budgets. The issue is currently under policy review by the Judicial Council.
