5. If sufficient funds are available within its approved budget allocation, may a court grant equity adjustments to court employees, court executive officers, or other staff without county approval?

AB 233 [The Trial Court Funding Act of 1997] did not change existing methods for approval of salary adjustments for trial court employees. However, courts are required to operate within the salary and classification levels set in state statutes, or local memoranda of understanding (MOUs) or ordinances.
