Barbara J. Bare

Deputy Marshal Barbara J. Bare has more than 23 years of law enforcement experience in all phases of court services. She has coordinated activities with judges, court administrators, court clerks, court reporters, and others within the court system. Ms. Bare established the marshal's curriculum and certification requirements for the California Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission. As past president and current legislative chairman, she has reviewed and interpreted laws and pending legislation applicable to marshal's personnel; prepared and presented legislative amendments, advised department heads and members of bill provisions. As legal defense representative, Deputy Bare has represented employees in grievance matters, Skelly hearings, and appeals. Deputy Bare has extensive knowledge of the qualifications, training, duties, and responsibilities of court security officers.
