Judge Charles D. Field serves in the Superior Court. As an attorney he specialized in labor law, practicing exclusively in that area for about twenty years before his appointment to the bench about ten years ago. Among his clients were agricultural, manufacturing, retail, and construction employers; school districts, cities, water districts, and other public agencies; and nonprofit employers. He also represented employee organizations and groups, taught labor law at the University of California and for employer groups, and wrote articles and manuals on labor and employment law. Judge Field served a term on the University of California Board of Regents, dealing with issues such as employment, mediation, and consensus building.
