Task Force on Trial Court Employees To Meet in Riverside September 21-22,
1999
San Francisco — The Task Force on Trial Court Employees is set to hold
a working and educational session in Riverside, California, from Tuesday,
September 21 through Wednesday, September 22, 1999. All meetings
are open to the public. The two-day session will begin with a public
comment period for trial court employees and other interested parties.
The task force meeting will be held at the Mission Inn, 3649 Mission
Inn Avenue, Riverside. The September 21 meeting is scheduled to run
from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., beginning with a public comment period from
10:00 to 10:30 a.m. Interested speakers should arrive by 9:45 a.m.
The September 22 meeting is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Limited seating
is available for members of the public.
The task force is chaired by Justice James A. Ardaiz, Administrative
Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Fifth Appellate District (Fresno).
Established by the Trial Court Funding Act of 1997, the statewide task
force is charged with developing and recommending a personnel structure
for trial court employees.
The task force meeting has the following objectives:

To provide an opportunity for communication through the public comment
period;

To review final assumptions, objectives, and models for:
1. Defined benefit retirement,
2. Deferred compensation,
3. Benefits,
4. Accrued leave,
5. Meet and confer, and
6. Employment protection;

To finalize transition assumptions, objectives, and model;

To identify any outstanding issues for purposes of the second interim report;

To agree on needed modifications to the draft of the second interim report;

To provide updates on the trial court employee survey; and
-
To agree on meeting dates for the task force to review draft legislation.
