Task Force On Trial Court Employees To Meet In Los Angeles On November
8-10, 1999
San Francisco — The Task Force on Trial Court Employees has scheduled a
three-day working and educational session in Los Angeles from Monday, November
8, through Wednesday, November 10, 1999. All meetings are open to
the public. The session will begin with a public comment period for
trial court employees and other interested parties.
The task force meeting will be held at the Westin Los Angeles Airport,
5400 West Century Blvd., Los Angeles. The November 8 meeting is from
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a public comment period from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
Interested speakers should arrive by 9:45 a.m. The November 9 meeting
is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The November 10 meeting is from 8 a.m. to
12 noon. Limited seating is available for members of the public.
The task force is chaired by Justice James A. Ardaiz, Administrative
Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Fifth Appellate District (Fresno).
Established by the Trial Court Funding Act of 1997, the statewide task
force is charged with developing and recommending a personnel structure
for trial court employees.
The task force meeting has the following objectives:

To provide an opportunity for communication through public comment period;

To agree on dates for a task force review of draft legislation;

To discuss and reach agreement on employment status for trial court employees;

To discuss and reach agreement on outstanding issues related to the models;

To review public comments on the Second Interim Report and reach agreement
on appropriate responses;

To discuss and reach agreement on format for final report; and
-
To discuss and reach agreement on process for drafting legislation.
