Sheriff Charles C. Plummer

Sheriff Charles C. Plummer has held this position since 1987. He served as Chief of Police for the City of Hayward from 1976 to 1986. He was a member of the Berkeley Police Department from 1952 to 1976 and rose through the ranks to become Acting Police Chief. Sheriff Plummer is the first vice-president of the California State Sheriff's Association. Since earning a bachelor's degree in public service from the University of San Francisco in 1976, Sheriff Plummer has had extensive law enforcement training in administrative justice at the University of Virginia and the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He is a graduate of the National Executive Institute.
