Mike Vargas

Mike Vargas has over 24 years of work experience in the state's personnel management system. This includes experience in the following program areas: selection, benefits, classification, compensation and matters relating to labor/management relations.

He has worked in the state's two central personnel agencies, the Department of Personnel Administration and the State Personnel Board. Mr. Vargas has personnel management experience in four other state departments, including the Department of Veteran's Affairs, the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Agricultural Labor Relations Board, and the Department of Aging. He has managed the activities of technical staff engaged in administering the state's personnel management programs.

Mr. Vargas earned a bachelor's degree in public administration. He also served for three years in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division.
