Marijuana is called a hallucinogen, a depressant, and a stimulant because of its unpredictable effects. Marijuana is one of the world's most commonly used illegal drugs. It is the leaves, stems, and flowering tops of the hemp plant Cannabis sativa, and its main active ingredient is THC (delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol). Marijuana can range from 1% to 30% THC.
There are more than 200 nicknames for marijuana, but the most common ones are pot, herb, maryjane, chronic, MJ, blunt, reefer, joint, and weed.
